Dr. Brian Curtin is a Fellowship trained, Interventional Pain Physician, born and raised in Milwaukee, Wisconsin. He earned his undergraduate degree from Marquette University and his Medical Degree at the West Virginia School of Osteopathic Medicine in Lewisburg, West Virginia. Thereafter, he completed a traditional rotating internship at Swedish Covenant Hospital in Chicago, Illinois and residency training in Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation at Loyola University Medical Center in Chicago, Illinois. He also completed an ACGME-accredited Pain Medicine Fellowship at the University of Michigan in Ann Arbor, Michigan.
Dr. Curtin specializes in the diagnosis and treatment of painful conditions of the back, neck, shoulders, knees, hands, and hips. He uses the most up-to-date, evidence-based treatment modalities, in conjunction with guidelines developed at local and national pain societies, as well as guidelines developed at the State and Federal level.
He uses a multimodal approach to treating chronic pain, which includes the use of physical therapy, non-addictive analgesic medications (antidepressants, anticonvulsants, and anti-inflammatories), and interventional procedures, to optimize his patients’ well-being and functional status.
He is an active member of several national medical societies that emphasize the treatment of pain including the American Academy of Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation, American Academy of Pain Medicine, and Spine Intervention Society.
When not practicing medicine, Dr. Curtin enjoys spending time with his wife and playing golf.
